My motherland India allows this freedom to its citizen. I as a devout Hindu bow my head at the dargah of Ajmer Sharif near Jaipur, Hazrat Nizamuddin at Delhi, Haji Ali at Mumbai and many other muslim shrines without compromising my religious faith because I find solace and blessings of my omnipresent God there too.

Similarly my Country’s Hindu way of life and all encompassing culture allows people of different religious faith not only to follow, profess and preach their own religion but also to participate and seek blessings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. There are muslims in village after village in India who do it individually and collecgtively.

Ganesh mandals formed exclusively by muslims is very common in parts of Maharashtra. I am likely to upload a published photograph of such a group very soon.

If the likes of Salman Khan are to deserve death in a Muslim country for their crime to seek refuge and blessings of the God (Allah) of their choice as per their belief; let there be no muslim country in the world.

Thanks for educating us on the Islamic law. India is not an Islamic country. Salman Khan and his Muslim family’s worship of a Hindu god does not come into the definition of an offence or crime under Indian Penal Code. Therefore, he cares two hoots for a fatwa.

Rameshji,this family seems different.His sister Olivera married to Atul Agnihotri.He also painted Ganesha on canvas and that was a beautitful work.

With due respect to all norms of all religions, I would like to ask, does a person not have the right to worship God the way he /she would want to? I think people should concentrate more on connecting to God and not on the manmade means of connecting to God. All religions preach respect and love for other religions. If you are punishing people for praying God, you have not understood the essence of your religion. Religion is always about tolerance and not intolerance and punishment.

Only Allah punishes Muslims if they offer prayer to any one else except himself. The punishment for this unpardonable offence is death in Islam as informed by Hassan Rizvi of Lahore. No wonder, Muslims prefer to remain in India.

Insecured religions try to hold back their followers by hook or by crook. This is quite common in Muslim countries but should have no place in a secular country like India. There should be a law against these baseless fatwas that divides Indians in name of religion.

Why should Salman get the fatwa for worshiping God Ganesha? Those who are criticising Salman should understand that India is a secular country and thre is no strict rule who should believe what God or Goddesses. But it’s quite obvious, for no one can escape from criticism if worship religion other than the community.

Educated Muslims don’t bother about these fatwas in India. They just ignore it.

Muslim fundamentalists believe that islamic laws are superior and universally applicable and therefore Fatwa has been issued to punish Salman Khan.

Salman Khan should file a complaint with police and people responsible for issuing Fatwa should be booked for taking the law into their own hands and issuing threat to an Indian citizen. It is India, a secular country; not a tin pot Islamic state.

That’s how bad a Muslim thought is! I have many Hindu friends who visit Mosques, but no one here issues a fatwa to them. How stupid can you people get with your drudgery. Every religion teaches tolerance be it in any form. Where is the problem with a Muslim visiting a Hindu Temple. What is up with your religion. Does the Kuran teach people not to tolerate any other religion, i do not think so, for no holy sacrament can preach such a thing. I am not against muslims. The female who taught me love (not sex) was a muslim. My best friends are muslims. The best of artisans, craftsmen, artists, painters, etc. are muslims. I do not deny their contribution in my life or my country’s life. Whether I like it or not, they are an integral and unseparable part of my motherland. Sadly, muslims don’t agree to that. If they are in majority, they want to be separate. Their history is the testimony that they change the geography of the country.

For me Allah and Ishwar is same. For them, it is not. Not content with it, I am their enemy and my God is to be destroyed because my God is a false god for them and I must be punished for believing in my God. That is intolerance for me. For them, it is naked hatred. They destroy my temples, build Masjids over it to humiliate us for ever. They rape our women and multiply like pigs because for them female is only for pleasure even during periods and ramzan fastings. All that and more because their Holy Quran teaches it.

I am afraid that Hindus will be wiped out if they remain docile and continue to falsely believe in peaceful co-existance because they don’t believe into it. Reason, Holy Quran prohibits it.

Got your point Ramesh ji. Yes, there have been times when muslims have carried out their hatred against hindus in the form of viloence. Even when Atal Bihari Vajpayee paid a visit to Pakistan and he visited one of their masjids, some of the fanatics later washed the masjid with rose water, as according to them the purity of the masjid was destroyed by the visit of a hindu.

But according to me, these people are simply ignorant. they don’t understand their own religion, leave aside believing in any other religion. But we also can’t ignoire some of the good muslims like Fatima (Whom I meton instablogs only). I truly hope that people stop worrying so much about each other’s beliefs and start worrying about brining peace on earth.

The name of the female is Fariha. She spoke good English, wrote well and hid herself behind spec and hijab. She had fixed set of ideas about religion and had no flexibility in mind. Hey could you please explain to me how a fatwa helps? And what exactly is it? Does a fatwa make a person regret what he has done? Is it suddenly going to place the fear of God in a person?

Doesn’t Islam say you should never call a person a Kafir because you don’t know what is their in their hearts? So what is the use of a fatwa? A true Muslim could stand in front of the cross in a church and still play to Allah in his heart, can he not?

That is your religion. My faith does not limit it to only the invisible Allah or Ishwar. I have no problem in worshipping the Prophet because we worship all and see Him in all.

You may not agree or accept but I have seen many Muslims who worship at Dargah; some crave for His blessings and unification with Him. They call themselves Sufi.

Akbar the great started a new religion called Din-e-Ilahi. Has any one spoken even a single word about it and against him. Was it permissible for a devout Muslim King to do that and declared himself a prophet?

By asking every one to submit to Allah, the kind Prophet has become a lighthouse for every Muslim terrorist to terrorise other into submission to Allah only. Any other form of worship was not acceptable to the prophet and not acceptable to his rigid followers. That hurts our freedom.

Islam does not accept that.

Fatwa unlike Hukamnama of Sikhs is the personal interepretation of a Moulvi. In a sting operation carried out in India, Moulvis were shown to have issued Fatwa on being bribed to do so.

Mughals were not peace loving rulers. India did not prosper during their rule. Mir Jaffer, the general of Babur destroyed birthplace of Lord Ram and build Babri Masjid over it. His son Humayun was a weakling. Akbar married Jodhabai by force and kept her brother in Court so that she does not commit suicide. Jehangir and Shahjehan were womanisers. Aurangzeb was a fanatic. he destroyed Lord Krishna’s birthplace at Mathura and converted it into Masjid. He did the same to Vishwanath temple at Kashi (Benares). Thousands of temples were destroyed by them. All Mughals slapped Jijya on Hindus. There was continuous war, intrigue and loot during their rule.

I really wanted Hassan Rizvi to explain the fatwa to me. It seems the idea of a fatwa is to evoke remorse rather than to mete out punishment, and since remorse is soemthing no one can force us to feel, I cannot understand the importance of a fatwa.

And what does Islam not accept, Balam?

Islam does not accept that a Muslim would stand in front of a Cross or an idol and still remember Allah.

Fatwa is a decree for punishment by the community to the errant.

Islam does accept that. That is why the word Kafir is forbidden. What you are speaking about are untruths propounded over centuries by extremists who would say even friendship with a hindu or anyone else is forbidden. Load of bullcrap.

Surah 3.
28. Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah. except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember)
Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.

85. If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah., never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).

152. Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy,-until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Among you are some that hanker after this world and some that desire the Hereafter. Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you but He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.

Surah 8.
12. Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): ”I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”

65. O Messenger. rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding.

69. But (now) enjoy what ye took in war, lawful and good: but fear Allah. for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Surah 9.
5. But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

14. Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believer.

23. O ye who believe! take not for protectors your fathers and your brothers if they love infidelity above Faith: if any of you do so, they do wrong.

73. O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

123. O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.

52. Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur’an).

49. Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.

Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah.s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.

Surah 48.
20. Allah has promised you many gains that ye shall acquire, and He has given you these beforehand; and He has restrained the hands of men from you; that it may be a Sign for the Believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path;

28. It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.

15. Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

Your hope is futile. Islam makes a person rigid. It wants absolute, unfettered, unquestionable faith in itself. In return it does not open up the mind of the seeker. It makes the mind’s door closely shut.
