WILL PAKISTAN BREAK UP AGAIN?

Pakistan :

In the glittering Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan where President of India honours dignitaries, confers awards and holds swearing in ceremonies, lies a statue of Gautam Budha, the apostle of peace which is visible without straining your eyes just behind the left hand knuckle of the President’s chair. The base of the statue is of the same height as that of the roof-top of the arch of India Gate at Rajpath in New Delhi from where our Republic Day Parade starts after the floral tribute to the unknown soldier. India Gate was built by British after the Afghan War.

From 1011 A.D. when Afghanistan separated from India on religious grounds; there was no peace there. Tribals fought with each other and also made life impossible for others. British troops passing by Khyber Pass or other places were trapped and looted or killed.Loya Jirga, an assembly of tribal chieftans, could not guarantee peace. Pakhtoonis who spoke Pushtoo were demanding separate state of Pakhtoonistan, as Baloochis were bent upon Baluchistan. Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab and his clan thereafter were always at war with them. After a few futile attempts at war, British were able to broker peace with the then Ruler of Afghanistan, took away the administration of Pushto speaking areas from him for a period of 100 years after which the territories were to be returned to Afghanistan. This treaty was signed on 12 Nov 1893 by Abdur Rahman Shah, Ruler of Afghanistan and Sir Mortimer Durrand, Foreign Secretary of the colonial Government of India. After this treaty was signed the acquired Afghani territory was named NWFP with its capital at Peshawar. The imaginary border was called Durrand Line.

The treaty expired on 11 November 1993. Successive Afghan governments have not been able to demand return of N.W.F.P. from Pakistan as per the international convention as Hongkong was returned to the Chinese by the British . Thus Pakistan would not like to have a strong and stable government at Kabul and shall keep on creating trouble. Any one keeping a track of I.S.I . chief’s movements shall have no doubts of the Pakistani intentions and shall understand its track record of crushing the aspirations of Pakhtooni people.

Good piece Ramesh.

I cant say much on the political senario as this does not interest me nor i have adequate knowledge of politics. As far as Pakistan is concerned, in Islam there are no geographical boundries and Muslims all over the world are one nation. As Iqbal says,

”IN TAZA KHUDAOON MAIN BARA SUB SAY WATAN HAI,

PARAHAN (dress/ outlook))IS KA HAI JO MAZHAB (religion) KA KAFAN HAI”

These boundries are just secondary as far as i know and believe. Before being Pakistanis, we are Muslims first. I pray that the entire nation realizes this.

Thanks for visitng.

The bond of Islam was fragile and could not keep East Pakistan united with West Pakistan and a separate nation of Bangladesh was born in 1971. Mujib-ur-Rehman, the then leader of East Pakistan and the father of Sheikh Hasina Wajed was an equally good follower of Islam.

”Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” (The whole world is a family) is an old Sanskrit Verse. The question today is; can the humanity remain united? Can we think of joint family of nations? Or should we think of and accept separate, small nations but at peace with each other; as far as humanly possible?

Mr. Ramesh Balam.

i am very happy to see the knowledge you have, but i want you to know few things which are very important. I agree Bangladesh got seprated from Pakistan but this was something done through agencies and you know very wel what i mean.

India is the biggest country in South Asia and i believe they should help other nations , showing them they care as he is like big brother to them and then we can develop together and we would not need America.

Now what i see is the India is having territory problems with every nation, whether it is Pakistan, China, Nepal or Bangladesh. They should stop looking at Pakistan and should concentrate on the problems which are more important.

Thanks

@Zaidi

”They should stop looking at Pakistan and should concentrate on the problems which are more important.”

India might not be facing crisis which Pakistan is facing now.Pakistan is virtually in grip of all types of terrorists and extremists. Why then it’s not first setting it’s house in order before lecturing India on various issues?

@ Arvind.

I agree totally Arvind, i am not denying you. Pakistan is facing problems right now but we have to go little back and should see the wars which were fought between the 2 nations. I want to see people of both the nations to grow economically and people should get the benefits. I dont want to see South Asia to remain Underdeveleoped for next 100 years. If there is no Pakistan my brother i am sure there will be no India too, as you can see that Afghanis came into Pakistan and now we are having problems of all sought, then you know after Pakistan it can be India.

I want you to know that we never sit together for a dialogue seriously, i want people of both nations to come together but it never happened as our politicains used our emotions and we still feel bad for eachother.

So what i mean by India should concentrate on the problems is because there are many other issues which should get resolved.

thanks

Thanks for visiting.

Indian Independence Act 1935 and 1946 did not give any rights to the people to decide their fate. That was given only to the princely states of British India. Much that Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, the frontier Gandhi willed and wished; thje Government of india could not have done anything and therefore did not act.

Mr Ramesh, these are comments of Fariha jamil on yr article.’These boundries are just secondary as far as i know and believe. Before being Pakistanis, we are Muslims first. I pray that the entire nation realizes this.’

Do muslims of India endorse them.why Hindu Sindhis and Pandit Kashmiris have been deprived of their right for land and property at their motherland.

I shall reply to Fariha Jamil as and when she appears, in whatever avtar she re-appears.

Muslims may believe that the entire land of this earth as also its property, wealth and women belong to them and not of us letter mortals.

That is misconception.

It would be my pleasure and a matter of honour if Deepa, Puja, Madhuri, Atul and other great thinkers and event watchers at Instablog read my articles and give their honest opinion. I learn a lot from their insight and frank articulation of their views.

Ramesh,
I did miss out this insightful article...
I guess both Pakistan and Afghanistan are more of friends than adversaries thanks to cross-border militant exchange and Taleban’s ongoing conflict with Nato troops. The conflict between two will be begin once this ’war on terror’is over.Till then they will stand united as they both need each other...
Once again its a naive point of view.
Also here at IB we all are at the same level and platform as collective thinkers and event watchers...

NATO troops and USSR occupation of Afghanistan weakened it. They are in no position to assert their authority. They have to buy peace with Pakistan. Durrand line may wait.
