My motherland India allows this freedom to its citizen. I as a devout Hindu bow my head at the dargah of Ajmer Sharif near Jaipur, Hazrat Nizamuddin at Delhi, Haji Ali at Mumbai and many other muslim shrines without compromising my religious faith because I find solace and blessings of my omnipresent God there too.

Similarly my Country’s Hindu way of life and all encompassing culture allows people of different religious faith not only to follow, profess and preach their own religion but also to participate and seek blessings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. There are muslims in village after village in India who do it individually and collecgtively.

Ganesh mandals formed exclusively by muslims is very common in parts of Maharashtra. I am likely to upload a published photograph of such a group very soon.

If the likes of Salman Khan are to deserve death in a Muslim country for their crime to seek refuge and blessings of the God (Allah) of their choice as per their belief; let there be no muslim country in the world.

That’s how bad a Muslim thought is! I have many Hindu friends who visit Mosques, but no one here issues a fatwa to them. How stupid can you people get with your drudgery. Every religion teaches tolerance be it in any form. Where is the problem with a Muslim visiting a Hindu Temple. What is up with your religion. Does the Kuran teach people not to tolerate any other religion, i do not think so, for no holy sacrament can preach such a thing. It a mental block and this is exactly what is defaming your community globally. What a Shame!

Islam does not allow Muslims to worship idols.I am stating the Muslim belief and faith;and the Islamic law which states the punishment for it. Any Muslim worshiping an idol ,in a Muslim country would be fit for the death punishment.

Thanks for educating us on the Islamic law. India is not an Islamic country. Salman Khan and his Muslim family’s worship of a Hindu god does not come into the definition of an offence or crime under Indian Penal Code. Therefore, he cares two hoots for a fatwa.

With due respect to all norms of all religions, I would like to ask, does a person not have the right to worship God the way he /she would want to? I think people should concentrate more on connecting to God and not on the manmade means of connecting to God. All religions preach respect and love for other religions. If you are punishing people for praying God, you have not understood the essence of your religion. Religion is always about tolerance and not intolerance and punishment.

Hi All;

I cant understand why you people can see the splinter in another eye,and not see the log in your own.

Islam is a complete religious as well as a political system; which means it makes no distinction between church and state.Which also means it truly worships God,instead of paying lip service to religion,by believing that God’s laws are superior to state laws.

In such a context anyone who goes against the basic concept of worship(loyalty to ) of one God is a traitor and punishable by death – just like even in a purely political state any one disloyal to the state or the king is a traitor and punishable by death. Plain simple sound logic .

As for the greater tolerance of Hinduism or Christianity - the recent violence in Orissa where Hindu hardliners attacked a Christian orphanage killing a nun and seriously injuring a priest who died later;followed by at least 10 others burnt alive inside their houses including one person doused with kerosene and burnt in full view of a Hindu crowd is a perfect example of Hindu toleration!!The infamous Gujrat riots is another!!And you all know I can give thousands of other examples of hindus going on the rampage against Muslims,Sikhs,Christians,untouchables ,Dalits,etc etc .

As for Grace ,she knows what the Christians have been doing to the Moros since the last

60 years ,and before that what they did to her Filipno great,great,great grand dads and great, great,great,grand moms.

At least the Muslims every where are only striking back at their oppressors and not the initiators.

Salman Khan should file a complaint with police and people responsible for issuing Fatwa should be booked for taking the law into their own hands and issuing threat to an Indian citizen. It is India, a secular country; not a tin pot Islamic state.

I Comment here without fear or favour. I feel what I write; and I write what is right. I do not write untruths. I write only facts. You are free to agree or disagree with my views.

I am not against muslims. The female who taught me love (not sex) was a muslim. My best friends are muslims. The best of artisans, craftsmen, artists, painters, etc. are muslims. I do not deny their contribution in my life or my country’s life. Whether I like it or not, they are an integral and unseparable part of my motherland. Sadly, muslims don’t agree to that. If they are in majority, they want to be separate. Their history is the testimony that they change the geography of the country.

For me Allah and Ishwar is same. For them, it is not. Not content with it, I am their enemy and my God is to be destroyed because my God is a false god for them and I must be punished for believing in my God. That is intolerance for me. For them, it is naked hatred. They destroy my temples, build Masjids over it to humiliate us for ever. They rape our women and multiply like pigs because for them female is only for pleasure even during periods and ramzan fastings. All that and more because their Holy Quran teaches it.

I am afraid that Hindus will be wiped out if they remain docile and continue to falsely believe in peaceful co-existance because they don’t believe into it. Reason, Holy Quran prohibits it.

If you get time, read some of my articles including the one on Tajmahal. Your eyes will open to the horrible reality.

Got your point Ramesh ji. Yes, there have been times when muslims have carried out their hatred against hindus in the form of viloence. Even when Atal Bihari Vajpayee paid a visit to Pakistan and he visited one of their masjids, some of the fanatics later washed the masjid with rose water, as according to them the purity of the masjid was destroyed by the visit of a hindu.

But according to me, these people are simply ignorant. they don’t understand their own religion, leave aside believing in any other religion. But we also can’t ignoire some of the good muslims like Fatima (Whom I meton instablogs only). I truly hope that people stop worrying so much about each other’s beliefs and start worrying about brining peace on earth.

Mughals were not peace loving rulers. India did not prosper during their rule. Mir Jaffer, the general of Babur destroyed birthplace of Lord Ram and build Babri Masjid over it. His son Humayun was a weakling. Akbar married Jodhabai by force and kept her brother in Court so that she does not commit suicide. Jehangir and Shahjehan were womanisers. Aurangzeb was a fanatic. he destroyed Lord Krishna’s birthplace at Mathura and converted it into Masjid. He did the same to Vishwanath temple at Kashi (Benares). Thousands of temples were destroyed by them. All Mughals slapped Jijya on Hindus. There was continuous war, intrigue and loot during their rule.

Hey could you please explain to me how a fatwa helps? And what exactly is it? Does a fatwa make a person regret what he has done? Is it suddenly going to place the fear of God in a person?

Doesn’t Islam say you should never call a person a Kafir because you don’t know what is their in their hearts? So what is the use of a fatwa? A true Muslim could stand in front of the cross in a church and still play to Allah in his heart, can he not?

Fatwa unlike Hukamnama of Sikhs is the personal interepretation of a Moulvi. In a sting operation carried out in India, Moulvis were shown to have issued Fatwa on being bribed to do so.

If you wish to live in your own cocoon; I don’t have anything to say to that. I reproduce here a few Aayats of Holy Quran to open your eyes to the grim reality that it is not Hindu extremists; it is the Holy Quran itself which teaches intolerance and hatredmtowards non believers.

Surah 3.

28. Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah. except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember)

Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.

85. If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah., never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).

152. Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy,-until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Among you are some that hanker after this world and some that desire the Hereafter. Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you but He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.

Surah 8.

12. Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): ”I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”

65. O Messenger. rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding.

69. But (now) enjoy what ye took in war, lawful and good: but fear Allah. for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Surah 9.

5. But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

14. Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believer.

23. O ye who believe! take not for protectors your fathers and your brothers if they love infidelity above Faith: if any of you do so, they do wrong.

73. O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

123. O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.

Surah 25

52. Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur’an).

49. Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.

Surah 47

4. Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah.s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.

Surah 48.

20. Allah has promised you many gains that ye shall acquire, and He has given you these beforehand; and He has restrained the hands of men from you; that it may be a Sign for the Believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path;

28. It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it over all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.

Surah 49

15. Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

Surah 61

4. Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.

Surah 66

9. O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed).

Surah 90

19. But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand.

20. On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round).

Jeez, why are you getting so offended? And, pray, tell me, when did I say anything about Hindu extremists? I merely said I don’t care to discuss it since it isn’t my war. If people want to cut each other up because of a difference in one word, they can do so. I really don’t give a damn. It doesn’t bother me. Humans are born destructive.

And I can’t understand why you call the book Holy when you obviously don’t find anything good in it. This is your post but I had directed my question at Rizvi because I just wanted to see things from a Muslim’s pov. I already know yours.

I have a different opinion about the book which is holy for my Muslim brethren. I have been taught that even in expressing dissent one should not become abusive and give due respect to the other person’s point of view. I think that is called ”manners”.

Hassanbhai may give his comments, if he so wishes. He is most welcome to do so.

Hassan,India is different,Indian culture is different,we respect each and everything given by the god,we worship the rivers,the mountains...everything.The land is also our mother.

This religion is of your forefathers,beleive me if you’ll go in history your ancestors also performed all kind of worships,pujas and havans.Then why suddenly every thing changed? ask your elders?

Here in India,there are Kayamkhani Muslims.They perform all Hindu rituals,takes Pheras according to Hindu Marriage tradition,is it wrong? you can say.
