We have never viewed females with the same lethality as we would a male. And because of that cultural sensitivity on our part, it has made the female a very valuable tool of the insurgent. No doubt, cultural mores and traditional, patriarchal norms that shield women from men play into the hands of insurgents. Seen as the honour of men in Arab society, women are able to assume an invisibility that makes it virtually impossible to know who the female suicide attacker is or will be.

Suicide bombers in Israel and also in Arabic Iraq have been both and men and women. It comes back to the idea that women are vulnerable and need protection so they wouldn’t be blowing up people. But, the truth is a woman is just as dangerous as a man is and is capable of every violent act a man is capable of. The issue is about gender here.. People fail to realize that the woman was a fundamentalist and it does not matter what the fundamentalist’s gender is...

this is true Ramesh,the general assumption that women are harmless has made them the best weapons of mass destruction,what binds this and adds advantage to operations by women is the fact that they also win the hearts of many easily through seducing their enemies or just playing good,then when the time arrives,the unexpected happens,you just find dust or blood all over.

Thanks Balam for highlighting that women could be as dangerous as man.It’s really a tough task for the security forces to combat these veiled women.

Looking at this issue from a different angle I must confess that women have always turned out to be better secret agents because of their ability to use their charms as trap.The world war period is full of tales of such women who often acted as double agents .
